John Meredith, CAE
Before founding the Meredith Advocacy Group, John spent twelve years advocating on behalf of social and then business issues in our nation’s capitol, winning two national awards for his efforts. He began his public policy career at a Washington “think tank” where he specialized in education, property rights and environmental issues. An ability to communicate complex policy concerns in terms anyone can understand quickly made him a popular guest on issue driven radio and television programs and his articles began to appear in a variety of media sources. John went on to represent the interests of small and family businesses in the heating and cooling, metalworking, nursery and landscape industries.
Through his coalition work with Congress, John helped gain enactment of subcontractor payment guarantees. Later, he organized and chaired a coalition of 21 organizations advocating passage of job creation legislation. Then, as co-chairman of the even larger coalition advocating reform of employer based visa programs, John led two successful efforts to enact emergency relief legislation for businesses dependant on seasonal labor. John has also been instrumental in securing federal funding for agricultural research, the extension of daylight savings time as well as the creation and management of numerous political action committees (PACs).
Tapping into those experiences, John developed the Lobby Washington at Home program which has empowered thousands to shape public policy through developing relationships with their Members of Congress. He has also crafted two popular educational programs, Advocacy 101: Establishing Your Political Power and PAC 101: Understanding Political Action Committees.
